Welcome to Albany's Lark Tavern

Albany's Lark Tavern

453 Madison Avenue has served as a landmark neighborhood tavern for over half a century, known for its friendly atmosphere, good food and lively entertainment.

Originally built in the mid 1800's, this building has played an important part in Albany's history.

Serving as an early horse-drawn firehouse with its stables in the rear, and later as one of the city's first silent movie theaters.

In 1933, at the end of prohibition, it was converted into our familiar Lark Tavern. After faithfully serving generations of Albany residents and visitors, it was closed due to a devastating fire in May of 2010.

We are honored to have renovated and reopened this Albany institution in 2012 and look forward to serving our neighborhood and city for many generations to come.
